It has taken a long time to get there but we now have a roof! The architects and planners were keen to ensure that the new building fitted in well with its new surroundings. The footprint of the Wilson Health Centre is therefore not rectangular and although it will be clearly distinct from the surrounding buildings, it will hopefully blend in harmoniously. In addition we had to make some last minute amendments to accommodate the requirements of planners. This has meant a more complicated roof design that has caused more than a few headaches for the architects and builders alike.
However the roof is now largely completed and we should hopefully have a completely watertight building in the near future. This will be a key turning point in the project and will mean the builders can start on the internal works.
