Berkeley Place Surgery (Tel: 01242 513975)
The current Practice dates back to 1963 when Dr Kennett took over the contract and started as a single-handed GP. The Practice became 2 partners in 1979 and 3 partners in 1984. Since 1988, the clinical team has been growing steadily and has diversified to include Nurses, Health Care Assistants and most recently an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. The admin team has also expanded to address the increasing complexity of the work that we do. The list size was 4,900 in 1988 and is currently over 10,300 and growing at a rate of at least 600 patients per year. The move to the new building is desperately needed as we have expanded beyond the capacity of the current location and the extra space this will bring will allow us to recruit further to improve the service for our patients.
We aim to deliver high quality Primary Health Care for patients that is both equitable and sustainable. Embracing change and capable of innovation and creativity, we will work within the limitations of the NHS to provide a trusted service that values the core ideals of traditional family General Practice, but is also responsive to the individual needs of the modern patient. We will continue to reflect on our feedback and regularly reassess our service to ensure it continues to meet the needs of our patients.
Royal Crescent Surgery (Tel: 01242 580248)
Royal Crescent Surgery can claim to be the oldest practice in Cheltenham, with its roots going way back to the early 19th century, but it was after the Second World War that Royal Crescent Surgery as we know it today began to take shape.
Previously situated at 11 Royal Crescent, over the years the practice expanded from a few rooms in the doctor’s family home, to eventually taking over the whole building. Now as the practice expands even further, the current Partners of Royal Crescent Surgery have taken the exciting decision to move the practice to a brand new purpose built surgery that is more suited for modern day general practice.
Today Royal Crescent Surgery has four GP Partners and employs two salaried GPs, a nurse practitioner and practice nursing team. Close working with other practices in Cheltenham means that the practice can also include pharmacists, specialist practitioners and social prescribers in the clinical team.
Royal Crescent Surgery offers modern health care facilities with traditional family values, putting our patients at the heart of everything we do.
